Springfield College’s master’s concentration in school counseling balances education and psychology studies to prepare students for future roles as guidance counselors and other school mental health professionals. Comprising 48 credit hours of coursework, the concentration includes general core classes along with advanced courses focused on in-school counseling.

Beyond their work in the classroom, students who pursue Springfield’s school counseling concentration take part in fieldwork practicums. Some students choose to continue their studies beyond the master’s degree to earn Springfield’s Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study, which requires 32 additional credit hours of coursework.
